Meet Nely
Nely Almada Varela, LCSW, LICSW
Hi, my name is Nely and I am the owner of Survive & Thrive, an online private therapy practice. As an independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I offer a unique therapeutic relationship that is respectful, caring and goal oriented. This is your personal journey to self discovery and I am here to help guide you as you take important steps to healing while gaining a greater sense of clarity and peace. These are the cornerstones of what I believe to be essential for effective therapy and something that I take special care to highlight and maintain from our first meeting to our final session together. You can be assured that in our time together your voice will be heard and you will be supported in this process.
I have over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field and have been practicing independently since 2014. My experiences include working with adults, families and our nation’s veterans. I have practiced in a variety of settings such as group homes, hospitals, community outreach and therapy offices. I use a trauma-sensitive and person-centered approach to help clients cope better with anxiety, improve relationships and resolve the concerns that brought them into treatment.
I am excited to announce that in early 2020, I also expanded my area of reach to provide convenient online counseling through my private practice business, Survive and Thrive, to residents of both Florida and Massachusetts.
